Pollinator on Thistle

Frequently, while on walks with Liddy, I will step out with my 100-500 lens attached to the R6. This is especially true when the walk takes us past the retention ponds below our home.

You never know what you will encounter while quietly enjoying the exercise, the sunshine, and the quiet company of your dog.

While the 100-500 is not even close to a macro lens, it does let me get in close to critters without scaring them off. In this case the critter is a species of pollinator that is harvesting pollen and nectar from a thistle head.

Thistles, on their own, are pretty, but a bit of activity will always help to engage the audience.
